I'm surprised at the lack of sites that have examples of Meyer's bad writing. I'm using the examples to write a bad version of my story for a project, and though many sites talk about the bad writing, very few have examples, so I'm glad to have found this.
What I'm surprised at, in regards to these lists about why Twilight is horrible, is how so many denigrate Bella's and Edward's unhealthy obsession with one another, and all the things that wrong with them both, but I have yet to see any about Bella's annoying uncertainty as to who she should choose: Edward or Jacob. Most of Eclipse revolves around how Bella is unable to choose between Edward (who was gone half of it) and Jacob, yet there's no explanation as to why she even likes either of them, except that they're both hot. "Oh, I love Edward! But now he's gone...and Jacob's pretty hot now...Hmm..." So, according to all of that, adding to the list of why it teaches young girls the wrong things, when one hot guy leaves, just go on to the next one. Don't you love superficiality?
